LOTOS Petrobaltic changes its name to ORLEN Petrobaltic
LOTOS Petrobaltic changes its name to ORLEN Petrobaltic in connection with the consolidation of the ORLEN Group's exploration and production activities. This is the next stage in the process of integrating domestic upstream assets and unifying the brand.
ORLEN Petrobaltic is the only Polish mining company dealing with the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas deposits on the Polish shelf of the Baltic Sea, as well as comprehensive offshore logistics services, sea exploration services and fleet management.
ORLEN Petrobaltic licenses for exploration and prospecting of mineral deposits cover 3 areas with a total surface of 3177 sq km. They are in the eastern part of Poland’s marine basin.
The ORLEN Petrobaltic company, its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities also hold two licenses for the extraction of minerals from the B3 and B8 field. Currently the B3 and B8 oilfields are operated.
The ORLEN Petrobaltic capital group also includes:
- companies from the Miliana Group, specializing in maritime logistics,
- Energobaltic Sp. z o.o. deals with waste gas management accompanying the the crude oil extracted from beneath the bottom of the Baltic Sea,
- special purpose companies established to carry out specific investments (B8 field development).
